Out of a field of over 1500 submitted films, 80 have been selected for screening at the 2008 Dances with Films Festival in LA. Among those "making the cut" is the music video created by Zenfilm for the Southern Backtones song "Forever".

The "Forever" music video has made a lot of waves since its completion in late 2007, exposing millions of viewers to these talented Houston recording artists....taking home a Gold Addy, a WorldFest Gold Remi and an AMA Crystal Award for the success of it's online marketing efforts...which resulted in the video being broadcast on MTV, MTV2 and Canada's Much Music Television Networks.

"Forever" will screen at Dances With Films later this month. Q&A will follow with director W. Ross Wells and Hank Schyma of The Southern Backtones. We will also be promoting Only in Houston, My Houston and The Houston Film Commission as part of our presentation. Screening time and location are:

Hey Everyone,

Tonight the Southern Backtones "Forever" Music Video played at the George R Brown Convention Center to the top couplathousand folks in the Houston advertising and media game.....and was awarded a Gold ADDY.

Anyway woo hoo... Congratulations to all of you on this big team win. The video will go on to compete at the regional ADDYs and if it wins there on to the Nationals....

Also.... Southern Backtones are #3 on the OurStage.com music video competition. If you have an hour to drop by http://www.OurStage.com and judge music videos, chances are the vid will come up and let you vote for it...not that it is doing bad on its own but every little bit helps...and the prize money could get the boys back in the studio or at least some new undies.....

Hello All!
Southern Backtones's single "Forever" will be featured on CNBC's "AMERICAN MADE" this Monday at 8:00pm/Eastern, 7:00pm/Central.

It has an initial run of six episodes "scheduled to air on consecutive Mondays. "'American Made' is CNBC's own 'Behind the Music' meets Fortune magazine," The show will air throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

OTHER NEWS:
SOUTHERN BACKTONES have just signed with "DADDY FRESH MUSIC", a British digital record label. DFM will release and promote the song "Forever" to the digital market. We hope to gain more popularity in England through this deal and talks of a European tour are in motion... More details soon!

Catch the SOUTHERN BACKTONES on the *FOX 26* morning show...

-Unless it rains, the band will be performing on top of the helicopter pad Friday
morning from 7:00 - 9:00 AM; briefly bumping in and out of breaks and then performing
an entire song towards the end. Will the Dylan stay up all night? Will Todd arrive
on time? Will the band make complete asses of themselves? TUNE IN!

Southern Backtones are thrilled to be performing! Dont miss this opportunity to see several short films by local artists, hear freaky live music, eat, drink and barf all under one roof!

The Houston Halloween Film Festival is an independent, grassroots, festival like no other. It is a truly unique event, created by filmmakers for filmmakers, with local support from people who believe in the arts. Our goal is to inspire & cultivate local talent, foster positive awareness of the production community here in Houston, raise some cash for a good cause and have a great time doing it.

This year we will once again be raising money to support the Texas Coalition for Quality Arts Education. So whether you enter a film or just enjoy the party, we will all be doing our part to ensure the survival of arts in education.

$10 gets you all the food, drinks, films & fun. Costumes are encouraged, so get dressed up and come party with the film community.
